 Mother's Love Orphanage

The courtyard of the Guangxi Hong Kong Mother's Love Orphanage. The building was originally built for military retirement use, with the "Mother's Love" statue in place. The founder, who had already picked the same name for her orphanage when she was offered this facility, considers the synchronicity a "sign from God."

The caretakers knew most of the babies in our travel group by name. They called Anji by the nickname "Mei Mei."

A resident helper.

There is a wing of the building dedicated to laundry.

One of the baby rooms.

A tribute to many, represented by a few. The orphange appeared to have a Christian foundation.

The Orphanage founder and director, Chan Kit Ying.

The road to (from?) the orphange.

Passing through the countryside on our way back out, while contemplating a life that might have been different.
